How it works.

The principle is brilliantly simple. Terralink sensors placed directly in the growing medium and a Climalink sensor in the plant canopy collect key data. This information is sent wirelessly to the LINKS Hub central control unit (not included).

Based on the set rules and real-time data, the Hub then instructs the valveLINK controller to automatically switch the connected irrigation valves. You can therefore be sure that your plants are getting exactly what they need, exactly when they need it.

Detailed description of the components

valveLINK: The heart of your automated irrigation system. This wireless controller can independently switch up to 8 standard irrigation valves (24VAC). It is protected by a durable NEMA 4X certified housing so it won't shy away from harsh environments. It allows for manual starts, timed schedules and fully automated cycles driven by sensor data.

Terralink (2 pcs). It measures volumetric water content (VWC), electrical conductivity (EC) and substrate temperature in real time. With TDR technology and a rugged IP68-rated design, it provides highly accurate data in soil, coconut and rockwool.

Climalink: A compact but accurate climate sensor that monitors temperature and relative humidity. From these readings, the system automatically calculates the vapor pressure deficit (VPD), a key figure for optimizing transpiration and the health of annuals such as tomatoes, chili peppers and herbs.

canopyLINK: A handy hub that serves as a central point for connecting Climalink and Terralink sensors. It greatly simplifies cable organisation and keeps your growing space tidy.

What is Crop Steering?

Crop Steering is an advanced growing method that uses precise data to purposefully "steer" a plant through the various stages of its development. By manipulating factors such as the water content of the substrate (VWC) and its electrical conductivity (EC), you can direct the plant towards either vegetative growth (leaf and stem formation) or generative growth (flower and fruit formation). This system gives you the tools to use this technique effectively.
