Smart watering without electricity

The heart of the system is the patented AQUAvalve5 float valve. After filling the 47-litre tank, the water flows automatically through 9mm tubing into the bowls under the pots. The AQUAvalve5 valve fills the bowl with water to a height of approximately 20 mm and then closes hermetically. It only opens again when the plants have used up all the water without any residue.

This process ensures a perfect and natural wet/dry cycle for the plants. The roots are never permanently in water, which gives them the necessary access to oxygen, stimulates their healthy and strong development and effectively prevents the risk of waterlogging or rotting. In addition, the new version of the AQUAvalve5 has a 66% larger inlet opening, ensuring even more reliable operation without the risk of blockages.

Recommended substrates for maximum performance

For the Autopot system to work flawlessly, it is crucial to use an airy and permeable substrate. Dense and heavy soils that hold too much water can disrupt the drying cycle. We therefore recommend 50/50 mixes that ensure an optimum balance between water retention and aeration:

• 50% soil / 50% perlite
• 50% coconut / 50% perlite
• 50% soil / 50% expanded clay
• 50% coconut / 50% expanded clay
• 50% rockwool / 50% expanded clay

In addition, place a drainage layer of expanded clay or perlite approximately 2.5 cm high at the bottom of each pot. This will ensure even better drainage of excess water and aeration of the root zone.

Easy to install and expandable

The system is intuitive and can be set up in a few minutes. Simply place the grommet in the tank, connect the tubing and filter, place the discs on the bottom of the bowls and pots and connect everything. Thanks to the modularity, you can easily expand the system. The supplied 47 litre tank comfortably supplies up to 6 pots. If you plan to grow on a larger scale, consider purchasing a larger tank for longer refill intervals.
