What pH should you choose for the nutrient solution?
Which pH should you choose? In general, for a nutrient solution a pH between 5.5 - 7 is recommended, but which is best?

The question has several answers:
- in soil or substrate you should keep pH between 6.2 - 7.0
- in coco choose a value between 5.7 - 6.3 pH
- in hydroponics choose pH between 5.5 - 6.3
Why these values?
Because in the range 5.5 - 7 pH the most important elements that the plant needs dissolve best in the solution, and the plant can therefore take up the most from the nutrient solution. See the image.
THE GOLDEN RULE
Keep the pH stable, even if you are slightly outside the optimal range. Constant pH fluctuations cause shocks to the plant and it absorbs nutrients much more slowly than at a stable pH, even if not perfectly ideal. So a stable pH is better than one that fluctuates around the ideal value.
To measure pH you can use our range of pH meters.
