How to prevent mold and remove it from plants?
You may already know this unpleasant experience from practice. You have successfully raised the seedlings, so you have every reason to look forward to the intense and unmistakable taste of fresh fruits, when suddenly...mold! Stay calm, molds can be prevented with a high success rate. Today we will explain how.

You can easily recognize fungal diseases of plants — the plant simply does not look healthy, you can observe numerous spots, and it does not matter so much whether the fungus attacked its roots or the fruits, which because of that slowly but surely begin to rot.
A typical example that troubles growers the most during the sunny season is tomatoes. They are particularly prone to developing fungal diseases, which include spots, black mold of tomatoes, gray mold, tomato powdery mildew, or the well-known potato blight. How do you ensure healthy tomato fruits like in the picture above?
Prevention is best
Fortunately, modern growing already has 100% natural means available to ensure sufficient resistance for growing crops. For example, the bio pesticide NovaFoliar makes the surface of plants literally unattractive not only to molds but also to various pests.
You can also successfully avoid molds, especially in the case of the mentioned tomatoes, simply by the way you plant. First of all, do not plant them near potatoes. You also need to prevent excessive dampness, so young plants must not be planted too densely. If you grow not only tomatoes in an indoor environment, you greatly reduce the risk of fungal diseases by sufficient ventilation and by creating an optimal climate inside the grow room. Lack of airflow, heat, and humidity all combine directly to create molds. In outdoor conditions, therefore, exercise increased caution during rainy periods. Outside, make sure tomato leaves do not touch the soil.
Saving infected plants
If mold on tomatoes or other plants has already developed to some extent, it is still not the end of the harvest. It is even not always necessary to go the chemical route. First try to determine what type of fungus it is. Some preparations are very specific, others offer broader use. For effective treatment of fungal diseases we recommend from our range the purely organic plant protection product BioGarden Polyversum, whose main active ingredient is the microorganism Pythium oligandrum. The huge advantage of this biological preparation is its gentleness to plants — it selectively and relentlessly attacks only the fungus itself.

If you do choose the path of chemical prevention or treatment of fungal diseases on tomatoes or other plants from your garden, do not forget the so-called protective interval, which refers to the period after spraying during which consuming the fruits can have a negative impact on the human body, similar to its effect on the pests themselves — and that is certainly not what we want when we grow healthy food ourselves.
