Eazy Plug for Easy Rooting and Sustainable Growth
HGA Garden Eazy Plug propagation media excel with the highest possible seed germination rates, and for environmentally conscious growers they are an answer to how to increase yields without sacrificing sustainability. Better success with cloning, cuttings or seed germination will be appreciated by every grower. Besides the advantages of the Eazy Plug cubes, this article explains how to use them correctly in cultivation practice.

Eazy Plug cubes, like Eazy Block and Eazy Pyramid, are an innovative propagation medium with an emphasis on the ecological aspect of cultivation, born in a Dutch center for cultivation technologies.
All HGA Garden Eazy Plug propagation media are purely organic and one hundred percent compostable. So much for sustainability. What else makes them unique?
- They are supplied pre-fertilized and also at predefined levels of EC 1.0 and pH 5.8.
- They excel with the self-regulating ability to achieve an optimal air–water balance in the growing medium, specifically within its pores. Because the medium self-regulates the amount of water, it is simply practically impossible to overwater, which will please not only enthusiastic gardeners.
- Strong bonding of organic components is the reason why additional growing pots are no longer necessary and HGA Garden propagation products keep their shape even without a pot. If a propagation medium is placed in a rigid container, the plant cannot effectively use the full volume of the medium and the roots receive less oxygen. Thanks to the absence of a planter, due to the firm organic structure of this medium, the young plant on the contrary has plenty of air and space to develop a strong network of fine roots in line with the “air-pruning effect”, known among growers as the air-pruning effect, where the plant’s roots grow through the propagation cubes and are exposed to relatively dry air, causing the root tip to dry and die. The plant naturally responds to this process by producing new, healthy and above all branching roots, instead of continuously elongating the primary root. In this way, secondary roots develop and branch along the length of the primary roots, repeating the process until fine root hairs gradually penetrate the entire propagation cube. The result is a highly branched root system with a wide network of fine roots and root tips, which leads to better absorption of water and nutrients, and consequently more vigorous growth and greater overall plant vitality. Moisture is evenly distributed in the medium and because of this the propagation medium in the form of Eazy Plug products is marketed in a dehydrated state for truly unlimited shelf life, allowing growers to store it long-term.
- As you can see in the images, the manufacturer has created a cohesive concept of interlocking propagation cubes and pyramids.

- Eazy Plug is universal and a very compact growing medium suitable for practically all growing methods in combination with all types of substrates.

How to use Eazy Plug?
- To start, you can check the video from the manufacturer.
- For a pack of Eazy Plug cubes you will need a seeder/planting tool. The most comprehensive and by far the most effective solution is mini-greenhouses (propagation domes). We recommend the popular pařníček od značky ROOT!T, made from quality plastic and equipped with ventilation flaps to maintain optimal microclimate and even higher success when germinating or cloning.

- In the Eazy Block the air-pruning effect described earlier kicks into full gear, and when the root system needs even more space, apply the same transplanting principle when moving the seedling from the Eazy Block cube to the top of the pyramid (Eazy Pyramid).

- Over time the plant will age and, due to its now richly branched root system, its exceptional vitality will become even more apparent. Thanks to the trio of consecutive and pre-fertilized propagation segments of Eazy Plug the roots absorb all nutrients very well. Later you can carefully transplant mature plants into a conventional pot so as not to damage the roots, and slowly begin the application of fertilizers.
