Brand story and philosophy

Founder Jay Jackson committed in 1993 to find an alternative to the commercial fertilizers available on the market at that time, which he and many other growers used. He wanted to find a formula, or rather a combination of these attributes:

Today it is clear that he found a solution, although it was not immediate. But seekers find. First he sought out plant nutrition experts at a research center in the Dutch town of Aalsmeer. Then the now world-famous "Dutch Formula" was created, which you will read about a few paragraphs below. Jay and his colleagues first tested the resulting products on their own crops and, given where the brand is today, it is also clear that the results were astonishing. After that things moved quickly. In 1996 he presented the "Dutch Formula" to the world at a trade fair in Germany, and the unique composition of his products started a boom among professional growers across Europe. Soon after, Jay Jackson also launched the "Natural Power" range of nutritional supplements. Today Advanced Hydroponics products are widely sold in 22 countries worldwide, not only in Europe but also in places like Japan.

Hydroponics and soil cultivation

Liquid fertilizers from Advanced Hydroponics are suitable for all types of growing media. This immediately dispels the fairly common misconception, partly suggested by the brand name itself, that this organomineral plant nutrition is usable only as hydroponic fertilizers. The opposite is true, and for use when cultivating plants in soil there is nothing simpler than preparing a nutrient solution from only half the dose of fertilizers. Advanced Hydroponics even produces dehydrated substrate for coconut cultivation, which is extremely popular among growers who prefer coco as a growing medium. The product is AH Coco Advanced XL 70L - coconut bricks containing Trichoderma with dimensions 30 x 31 x 11 cm, weighing just under 5 kg; after adding 30 litres of water they expand to the declared volume of 70 litres, making the Advanced Hydroponics coconut substrate ready for immediate use. Dutch Formula

Yes, this is exactly the formula Jay Jackson sought and found a quarter of a century ago! Do you remember the first of the three points? To make use as simple as possible, components had to be presented in a way that allows easy mixing so that each grower could easily adjust the volumes of the most essential nutrients to their needs. Thus a special three-component plant nutrition was born, whose original composition is known as the "Dutch Formula", providing plants in different stages of the cultivation cycle precisely what they need most at each moment. This applies to all types of plants from herbs to agricultural crops.

Base nutrition

The basic liquid fertilizer consists of 3 components Grow, Bloom and Micro, which are mixed according to the plant's current developmental stage in the following ratios:

• 2:1:1 during the growth period
• 1:2:1 in the pre-flower period
• 0:3:1 during full bloom

GROW

• The first of the three components ensures rapid growth and perfect plant condition during the vegetative phase.
• Newly planted specimens show a healthy root zone and deep green leaves.
• An important effect is creating optimal conditions for later bud production during the upcoming flowering phase.

BLOOM

• The second component builds nicely on the first, stimulating the production of large, heavy buds during the flowering stage.

MICRO

• The third component is the key to success because it contains all the essential microelements for healthy plant development.
• The included microelements are in chelated form for maximum biological availability.

Additives

Advanced Hydroponics offers additives for effective fertilization as well.

Advanced Amino

• This additive belongs to so-called biostimulants, increasing the supply of energy to plants and their overall vitality.
• It has the highest content of free and absorbable amino acids.
• It is suitable for all plants and can be combined with solid and liquid fertilizers.
• Through enzymatic (natural) hydrolysis and microfiltration, active biological amino acids are directly available to the plant.
• Improved growth and flowering occur under all conditions.

Advanced Silica

• Numerous scientific studies have already shown that plants generally thrive better in soil with a high silicon content. Silicon also stimulates the uptake of other essential nutrients (e.g. phosphorus), giving plants more energy, making them more active, and resulting in healthier and more vital roots, which is reflected in higher yields.
• Therefore this product's composition is dominated by a very high-quality solution of silicon dioxide (SiO2 - hydrolyzed silicon), which is a well-absorbable and important nutrient that strengthens the plant cell wall and epidermis. It thus provides more natural protection against fungi and infections.

• The high concentration of silicon in the product Advanced Silica is easily absorbed by the plant both through the leaves and the roots.

Advanced PK

• A supplementary fertilizer with a balanced phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) ratio, an essential helper during the flowering and fruit development phase.
• Phosphorus gives plants more energy (sugars) for developing an active and healthy root system and potassium improves water distribution so buds can fully develop.
