Growth stagnation in plants is often caused by insufficient CO2 levels, which can be a truly serious issue in poorly ventilated cultivation systems. CO2 tablets supply the CO2 directly to the roots and considerably accelerate growth.
During their extensive and careful testing, GIB found out that plant growth can be slowed down by a magnesium deficiency as well, which is why this product contains 1,2% of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) to combat this potential problem. Healthy plants can absorb and use much more CO2 than is usually available in the atmosphere. Adding more CO2 into the nutrient solution accelerates plant growth.
Attention: Adding CO2 just before (or during) nighttime is pointless! Plants need CO2 for photosynthesis which only happens if there's light. The tablets release CO2 4-6 hours after application.
Use and dosage:
- add 1 tablet per 100 l of water (healthy plants and cuttings)
- use 2 times a week for the entire growth cycle
- an increased dose is not harmful but has no further effects
- in hydroponics, add the tablets directly into the tank
- if you want to speed up the process, crush the tablet in a glass of water before mixing it with the nutrient solution

Using the CO2 tablets is environmentally friendly and doesn't cause any harm to plants, pets, birds, insects or microorganisms. Adding the CO2 tablets lowers the pH of the solution slightly, so we recommend monitoring it carefully. Extremely low or high CO2 levels impact the plants' ability to absorb nutrients from the solution.
