GrowStream 20 is a recirculating aeroponic system from Terra Aquatica for 20 plants - roots grow freely in an oxygenated nutrient solution, without substrate or complicated technology. A single water pump in the reservoir handles distribution. Dimensions 112 x 97 x 58 cm and a shared reservoir of approximately 170 litres, the same as the larger models in the range.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The smallest GrowStream with a shared large reservoir

GrowStream 20 is the entry-level model in the large range with a shared reservoir - twenty growing sites on a channel 112 cm long (dimensions 112 x 97 x 58 cm) and a reservoir with a volume of approximately 170 litres, the same as its larger siblings. This gives you the stability of a large solution volume in a more compact format that also fits into a smaller grow room. The roots grow freely in an oxygenated solution without substrate.

You harvest more from a smaller footprint without having to monitor any complicated technology. The system is driven by a single water pump in the reservoir, which periodically forces the solution into the growing channel. The solution then flows back down the sloped base into the reservoir and is naturally oxygenated on the way, so separate air pumps and controllers are not needed. The roots grow freely in the chamber without substrate and have constant access to nutrients and oxygen.

Construction designed to prevent leaks

You will appreciate peace of mind during operation and cleaning. The growing channel has a removable lid for easy access inside and a double wall at the channel and at the lid. The irrigation tube is routed inside the chamber, so no liquid leaks occur.

What you will need additionally

Add washed expanded clay to the system as root support (you will find it in the expanded clay / hydroton category) and fill it with nutrient solution. Plants are best planted into the system already rooted from a cutting tray or propagation area.

Which GrowStream size to choose

All GrowStreams are driven by the same principle and differ mainly in channel length and the number of sites. Depending on the space and number of plants, you can choose between these sizes:

  • GrowStream 10 - 10 sites, compact separate reservoir of approximately 45 l, for a balcony or a smaller tent.
  • GrowStream 20 (this system) - 20 sites, shared reservoir of approximately 170 l, shorter channel for a smaller grow room.
  • GrowStream 40 - 40 sites, channel 211 cm, for a medium grow room.
  • GrowStream 60 - 60 sites, channel 311 cm, for a large setup.
  • GrowStream 80 - 80 sites, channel 411 cm, for a commercial grow room.

The 20 to 80 models share a reservoir with a volume of approximately 170 litres, so as the setup grows, mainly the channel length increases. You can find the full range and accessories in the GrowStream / AeroFlo category.

Frequently asked questions

How many plants is the GrowStream 20 suitable for?

GrowStream 20 has twenty growing sites on a channel 112 cm long, so it is designed for twenty plants. It is the smallest model with a shared reservoir of approximately 170 litres - the large solution volume maintains more stable conditions than the small reservoir of the 10 model. If you need greater capacity, the 40, 60 and 80 models follow with a longer channel.

Do I need an air pump for the GrowStream?

No. GrowStream 20 aerates itself - the water pump in the reservoir forces the solution into the channel and, as it flows back down the sloped base, the solution is oxygenated. You therefore do not need to buy a separate air pump or controller. The only thing you add to the system is expanded clay and nutrient solution.
